
Parle was started in the year 1929 and the company first started producing biscuits under the name Parle-Cloco in 1938. Before independence, the name of Parle-G was Gluco Biscuit. but after 1980 it was given a new name.

But, the production of gluco biscuit was stopped after independence. Actually wheat was used to make it and there was a food crisis in the country at the time, due to which its production had to be stopped.
